Yes, that's right. We're going to start with a FAQ about the FAQ. Because that's how we roll.
Why Do You Need A FAQ?
Because people are always asking us questions about the community and why it exists and can they join and so it just makes sense to put a FAQ together to have all the answers in one place.
How Serious Is The FAQ?
It's as serious as the group. There are some inside jokes in there, but there are also useful answers there, too. In all seriousness, we DO recommend reading as much as you can stomach. You'll learn more about us and if you're not a good fit, it'll scare you away in advance.
This FAQ Seems Crazy-Long
It is a bit too long, but we've tried to make it as clear as possible. Part 1 is about the community, Part 2 is about membership in the community, Part 3 covers expected posting and commenting behavior, and Part 4 is about community culture . Each part starts with a summary of the most important things to be aware of before getting to the actual questions.
Is The Whole Thing Important?
Realistically, Part 3 is the most important part of the FAQ, but it'd be a good idea to check out Part 4, too, before you try to interact with us too much.
What If I Still Have Questions?
There is no way for a static document to answer every question you may have. We are well aware of this. If you have a question that is not covered by the FAQ, post it in the community (use the "Discussion" category) or tag one of the moderators in a private post in your own stream. We'll let you know what we think of you in fairly short order.
Some Of The FAQ Questions And/Or Answers Are Clearly Just Failed Attempts To Be Funny!
Yep. Can't win all the time.
